Proprietor  Don Andrews

Don began his career in hospitality at Deer Park Inn in Stouffville when after enjoying a dinner there he was intrigued to apply for a job. He completed a three year certificate in Hospitality Administration and Management doing placements with Cara Foods and CP Hotels (now Fairmont).

He worked at Orso Italian restaurant, Howard Johnsons and as a Catering Services manager for Marriott Hotels’ first Canadian project. In 1992 he worked for on contract for an American catering company managing projects at the Salt Lake City Olympic games. He continued that work through Athens, Torino, Bejiing and Vancouver Olympic games.

In 2001 Don on Main Tea Room and Gift shop was born which operated for six years and also housed his other business Empire Catering. By year two he was ready for more and so the search began for another location for a larger more evening centric business. In 2006 he completed the purchase of a run-down mill in Uxbridge and embarked on an eight month renovation. In December of that year Tin Mill Restaurant opened and also houses the catering business. As well Don co-owns Tin Cup Caffe and Capuccino bar.


Proprietor  Conrad Lepine

Conrad Lepine has been a part of the hospitality business for over 30 years starting out at L’Aiglon in Yorkville as a busboy and working at The Ports, The Pearcy House, Bellair Café, Bistro 990 and finally as general manager at Rosewater Supper Club.

After 25 years in the front of the house managing and caring for his employees and clients, a new challenge and a change of space seemed quite inviting. To satisfy his interest in food and wine, he decided to go behind the scene and into the kitchen. Don on Main/ EMPIRE Catering was a wonderful outlet for following his plan to focus his talents on cooking.

A short time later Conrad became an equal partner in a new venture know as Tin Mill Restaurant. There is also a successful catering business to manage. Conrad also co-owns Tin Cup Caffe and Capuccino bar.

Conrad has also been fortunate to have been able to attend three Olympics (Torino, Bejiing and British Columbia) where he was contracted to cook for the U.S. Olympic hospitality house including VIPs, Olympic athletes and former Olympians, families, and corporate sponsors.


Executive Chef  Mike 

Mike has been an integral part of our culinary team for the past few years. His approach to food is creative as he seeks to find a perfect balance between taste and texture.  With a passion for fusion based Asian-style cooking, Chef Mike loves to introduce bold flavours in an “east meets west” signature style.  When Chef Mike is away from the kitchen he pursues his passion for travel where food, no doubt, is on the agenda.


Pastry Chef  Ashley

Ashley brings extensive experience and knowledge to our culinary team. Dedicated, hardworking and loyal, her innovative approach to baking injects new life into traditional recipes.

With a knack for creating delectable desserts, she is best known for our famous carrot cake. Over 4000 carrot cakes have been baked from scratch and decorated to perfection since she joined the team nine years ago.

Always up for a challenge and willing to push the envelope, the sweet treats at Tin Mill keep guests coming back for more.
